Invisible Lands (SE/FI)
WITHOUT HOME AND WITHOUT HOPE
Over the desert, up the mountain and over the sea - the day the war broke out, they left their homes. The Arab Spring became a catalyst for a major scale human catastrophe. Millions had to flee their bombed houses and their homeland to embark on a dangerous journey into Europe. Many died along the way and even more are still refugees without a home and without hope for the future.
A LIVING STAGE
INVISIBLE LANDS is a touching and different performance that tells the story of the massive human flight from the war-torn countries in the Middle East. The two performers transform their bodies into a living stage where refugees try to find a road to take. This way, the refugee crisis becomes quite present. It literally creeps under the skin when the bare back turns into a desert, the spine into insurmountable mountains and the great sea lies just below the nose. It is a show without words and with a quiet sound that constantly reminds us why these people must rise and walk.
