SPECTACULAR MUSICAL THEATRE WITH BIG MACHINERY AND DELICATE SONGS
INTOXICATING FUSION OF OBJECT THEATRE, CIRCUS AND MUSIC
Four men wearing kilts take the empty stage. Slowly they start filling the stage with weird looking musical contraptions which they assemble before the eyes of the audience. An electric saw, screaming wood, a man in a can, a hand playing a child’s toy piano, exploding clogs, a man in a rotating piano (think Leonardo’s Vitruvian Man) rolling onto the stage, quivering cow bells and much, much else. The music, pulsating in-your-face rock, which collapses into delicate melody, played on a bicycle-pump organ or foot operated harmonium with lyrics (mostly in Dutch) occasionally with vibrato to the human voice supplied by a salad spinner.
Over the years, the Dutch company BOT have developed their own theatrical voice; an intoxicating fusion of object theatre, circus and music that knocks audiences off their feet. RAMKOERS truly pushes the boundaries of puppetry. It is a rollercoaster of energy and sound, and is performed by handsome Dutchmen in kilts!
A VISUAL AND MUSICAL ADVENTURE
RAMKOERS is the newest travelling performance of musical theatre company BOT. ILT audiences can look forward to an exhilarating show in which the musicians don’t take anything for granted, not even their own instruments. RAMKOERS KOLLISIONSKURS challenges the audience to step outside of their comfort zones and try something different. What starts with nothing but an empty floor, turns out to be an energy boost. The show is a visual and musical adventure, based on heart-warming compositions, a good sense of humor and a continuous feeling of insecurity. In all simplicity BOT provides both the instruments and the backdrop to a performance that you will not easily forget.
