BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO DREAM STANDING UP WITHOUT WALKING ON THEIR LIVES (FR)
A HYBRID PERFORMANCE WITH DANCE, CIRCUS AND FILM
BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO DREAM STANDING UP WITHOUT WALKING ON THEIR LIVES is a hybrid project that combines visual arts and choreography and brings the two genres closer together. The show mixes modern dance, circus and film art to create unreal and dreamlike moments through the motions.
SWIRLING NEWSPAPERS AND BODIES
BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO DREAM STANDING UP WITHOUT WALKING ON THEIR LIVES is a collaboration between the circus Boris Gibe and dancer and filmmaker Florent Hamon. The performance is an attempt to create a work that depicts the loss of reality through dance. In a mosaic of swirling newsprint and bodies the show invites the audience into a dreamlike universe where it constantly feels like reality is just about to disappear. The set design is in constant motion, and the two artists are struggling to keep up, to adapt to the change. Just as we in reality must constantly try to keep up with the changes around us.
