AN AUDIO WALK THROUGH A MODERN SNOW WHITE LANDSCAPE
A LABYRINTH OF MORTALITY
B is an installation in which the spectator walks alone from room to room accompanied with headphones. Large abandoned halls. The darkness of the forest. The dwarfs dirty old beds. A snap, a crack, a voice that whispers. Led by scents, sounds and light effects, the audience discover the abysmal, concealed and modern sides of Snow White. Based on The Grimm Brother's fairy tale, B tells the story of the transition to adulthood, the addiction to beauty, and the encounter with death. In this production, the story is not retold; fantasy is given the opportunity to interact with the staged rooms and sounds in a hovering intermediate world.
Snow White is the fairy tale of the transition from infancy to adulthood. In the classic fairy tale Snow White there appears to be something which is constantly in the balance between two opposites: life/death, luxury/poverty, immaculate/impure. These are the binomials upon which the narrative framework for B is grafted. The rereading created by Trickster-p doesn’t want to be a typical museum-like path which slavishly reproduces the ambiances of the story, but rather a sort of trip through the most intimate and hidden aspects of the fairy tale itself in a new and almost dystopian universe.
